Rector Letter
My name is Theo Cobbs. I attended KCTD#14 where I sat at the table of Matthew (Cha Ching)! My lovely wife, Jen, and I worship and serve at Hope Point Church in Olathe, KS. We have been married for 9 years. We have been actively serving in the Tres Dias and KC3 communities since 2018. We love our community so much that we moved from Tulsa Oklahoma to the KC Metro area in the fall of 2020, to be an integral part of these communities.
Coming up this September 24th-27th, I have accepted the honor of serving as the Rector for KCTD men’s weekend #28. I am looking forward to serving with the amazing team God has assembled and seeing what the Lord has in store for all attending the weekend. The theme for our weekend is “Crazy Faith”. The scripture for the weekend is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your path straight.” Jesus asks us to have faith and believe in HIm. Having faith can seem unrealistic and absolutely crazy. In fact, many people may even say we are crazy because we believe in a God we can’t see. An example of Crazy Faith that comes to mind is the battle between David and Goliath. In this story, a young shepherd boy declares he will fight the Giant, Goliath, because he is not afraid. He has God on his side and Goliath does not. Ultimately, he defeats the giant with just a sling-shot and one smooth stone..
When we choose to have Crazy Faith, we can defeat many giants (circumstances) that come our way. We can also have confidence that we are going to be okay. My sincere hope is that all will come to the weekend with expectations to experience God in new ways that result in a closer relationship with him. We must all come to the weekend with an open heart and open mind to hear from God, to be His hands and feet.
The weekend song is “Believe for it” by CeCe Winans. Add it to your playlist and let the Holy Spirit work in your heart. Let’s join together in unity on the upcoming weekend and positively impact each other’s lives. May your lives be abundantly blessed during this time of preparation. May your days be filled with positivity and may you continue to find joy in your lives.
DeColores,
Rector
