Hello!  My name is Joy Thomas and I have the blessing and honor of serving as Rector for the KCTD #19 Women’s Weekend.  My husband and I love this ministry and the community of believers that make up Kansas City Tres Dias!  I attended KCTD #11; Dale attended KCTD #12.

Just so you know a little about us:  We’ve been married for 42 years (I know, right ?!!) and we have five adult children, 3 daughters and two sons.  Four are married and between them, they have blessed us with 10 wonderful grandchildren—5 boys and 5 girls.  All our family is here in KC, and we really enjoy spending time together.  (It’s tough to get all 21 of our immediate family in the same photo though, but we managed it while on a hayride! 😊) Ours truly is a story of God’s goodness in restoring what was broken.

He is a good God and worthy of all our praise!

The theme for our Fall 2022 Women’s weekend is “Made to Worship!”

We will all worship something.  Jesus wants to be that Someone!  The very reason we were created is to know our Creator.  Not just know about Him, but toenjoy a deep and personal relationship with Him.  His very own blood paid the debt of our sins and redeemed us so that fellowship with Holy God is possible!  Our filthy rags exchanged for His riches of mercy and grace… Wow!  What love!  How can we not worship Him?!

Because God has been SO very generous toward us, He calls us to love and serve others so that they might truly know Him and worship Him too.  Tres Dias offers a beautiful opportunity to do just that!  Certainly, ‘worship’ can be music and songs and praise to our great God!  (One of my favorite things we get to do on a weekend!)  When done in love, worship can also look like coming in a spirit of humility and intentionality of heart in order to serve as Christ’s hands and feet.  Through us, His lavish love is poured out on women who may need to experience Jesus and come to know Him for the very first time… and on those that may need to be reminded of His love, who they are in Him

and why they were made.

I have much more to share about our theme, the weekend verses, songs, symbols and colors!  Watch for follow-up posts in the coming weeks.  My excitement for the weekend is growing and I hope that yours will also over the summer!  Pray with me that the Lord continues to build this Team (Thank you if you’ve already committed!) and pray for Him to draw the Candidates that He desires to attend this weekend.

If you haven’t signed up yet, please prayerfully consider serving with us in October.  For planning purposes, our Men/Women combined Team Meeting dates are August 13th and September 10th at Antioch Church.  Our 3rd meeting will be Women only on October 8th, location TBD.  (Note:  This will be the same day as the Men’s Serenade that evening.)  You can volunteer on the KCTD.org website, and then I will personally reach out to you.

Worship the Lord today…  He is worthy!!! And you are “Made to Worship!”

Grace & Peace to you.  ~Joy Thomas, Women’s Rector for KCTD #19
