Dear Kansas City Tres Dias Community:

In the heart of every little girl, there are aspirations and dreams. Girls dream of being beautiful princesses, valuable and adored.  As the fairy tales fade away and life sets in, dreams in girls’ hearts may be damaged or shattered.

On October 5-8, 2017, this community will sponsor KCTD WOMEN’S WEEKEND #12.  Princess Bride is the theme–a weekend to restore the broken dreams of the 42 candidates God will entrust to us.  A faithful God and a dedicated team that weekend will remind these women that they are extravagantly loved, worthy, beautiful, and needed in the Kingdom.  They will know that they are daughters of the King  and the brides of Christ, who is our perfect husband!

The bride, a princess, waits within her chamber, dressed in a gown woven with gold.  In her beautiful robes, she is led to the king, accompanied by her bridesmaids.  What a joyful, enthusiastic procession as they enter the king’s palace!

Psalm 45:13-15

My name is Debbie Funkhouser, and I attended KCTD #1.  I am married to the love of my life, Dan, who serves on many of the KCTD weekends as a Spiritual Director.  Our immediate family consists of our daughter and her husband, Lana and Chris, and their three children; and our son and his wife, Kent and Melissa, and their two children.  Our family is blessed to share life and seek God together on a weekly basis!

Dan owns a construction company, I am soon to retire from the dental hygiene profession.   Dan and I serve together as Marriage Ministry Directors for Antioch Church in Overland Park, KS.  We are certified lay Biblical marriage counselors.  Our life is full and abundantly blessed!  And now, I am honored to serve as Rector for KCTD Women’s Weekend #12!

I have heard from many of you whom God is calling to serve on this weekend.  We need volunteers at so many levels!  First and foremost, PLEASE PRAY for God’s direction for the weekend.  He sees it, and we want to conform to His plans and directions. Prayer is the absolute foundation for everything that will be accomplished.  And what will be accomplished is far beyond anything we can imagine!

If you would like to be a part of the team on this weekend, and I have not heard from you, please contact me.  We still need team members.  Beyond that, we will so appreciate  those who sign-up on the prayer wheel to surround every moment of the weekend with prayer; those who provide food for sendoff; and those amazing serenaders to come on Saturday evening!  God may speak to you about a special gift for the weekend.  Consider a gift of palanca for the candidates so we may lavishly love them!  Our KCTD #11 Head Kitchen Cha and her husband provided lunch for one of our team meetings.  All those acts of service are loved and appreciated!

As you are praying, please ask God who you might invite to be a candidate on this weekend.  God knows every one of them.  Please be obedient to invite and sponsor one or more candidates.  It could be the greatest, most life-changing gift you could give to another.  You and I received that gift when we were candidates, and now it is time to pass it on to others!

God is already moving in a mighty way toward this weekend.  Many of us feel His Spirit strongly.  You will be blessed to be a part of this at any level!  Not only will you minister to others, but God WILL minister to you!  That is the Kingdom principle–as you give, your gift returns to you pressed down, shaken together, running over, and poured into your lap!

Please contact me if you would like to share what God is putting on your heart.  My email is kchygienist@everestkc.net; my cell number is 913-220-6574.
