Have you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually put GOD’s armor on today? Visualize a Roman soldier as you put on your spiritual armor.
One day as I was reading Ephesians 6:10-18 and putting my armor on, GOD showed me several things.
How interesting that the first part of the armor mentioned is the Belt of TRUTH! Think about the functions of a belt. With TRUTH being the first protection I put on, I am automatically asking the HOLY SPIRIT to guide me, to convict me, to comfort me, and to be my discernment and protection from Satan’s lies, deceit, and counterfeits! I am “girding my loins” with GOD’s PERFECT WORD, POWER, and LOVE! JESUS says HE is the WORD and the TRUTH, so I am putting on JESUS! PRAISE GOD!
As I put on my Breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS, I am again putting on JESUS! I am only righteous because of the blood of JESUS. The breastplate protects the important organs of the body from attack. My heart is covered with the blood of JESUS so that what I see, feel, think, say, and do will be in HIS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, and SELF-CONTROL! My lungs are covered with JESUS so that the air I breathe is PURE, HOLY, and LIFE-GIVING! My stomach is covered with the BLOOD of JESUS so that what I digest will be going throughout my body to feed it with LIFE—JESUS!
When I put GOD’s RIGHTEOUSNESS on my feet, I am no longer barefooted. I have the protective and supportive shoe/covering of WHO JESUS IS and what HE did for me to send me out to share HIM, to share THE GOSPEL of PEACE with whomever I meet today. I will be “walking THE walk”! How we need the PEACE that only comes in JESUS! So, put on your SHOES to be ready to walk and to share THE GOSPEL in the PEACE of JESUS!
When I pick up my SHEILD of FAITH (Roman soldiers’ were made of leather), I have soaked it in the LIVING WATER of JESUS CHRIST, THE WORD, which is the only thing that is capable of “extinguishing all the flaming arrows of the evil one!” I am so thankful that I am soaking myself in JESUS this morning so that I am feeding my faith and soaking my shield with JESUS to be protected from Satan’s arrows. Thank YOU, HEAVENLY FATHER!
As I put on my HELMET of SALVATION, to cover and protect my head, my brain, my thinker, my GOD given computer, I am again covering myself with THE BLOOD of JESUS! I have been paid for! I have been ransomed! I have been freed! I am forgiven! I am covered by JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU—GOD WHO IS RIGHTEOUS! So my brain is covered with GOD! What an amazing understanding! How blessed I am!
The footnotes of my BIBLE also tell me that the Roman soldier’s helmet was a visible and striking symbol of military victory. Satan, you will not win this battle of my life on this earth in the NAME of JESUS! I am bought and paid for by JESUS CHRIST, covered by GOD ALMIGHTY, and GOD and JESUS through THEIR HOLY SPIRIT will give me victory over you FOREVER!!! HALLELUJAH! VICTORY in JESUS!
My first OFFENSIVE weapon is the SWORD — GOD’s HOLY INSPIRIED WORD! If I have hidden GOD’s WORD in my heart as Psalms 119:11 tells me to do, then GOD will bring it to my heart, mind, and mouth when needed for me to make decisions for HIM, as well as to live through the power of THE HOLY SPIIRT and with the FRUIT of the SPIRIT in my words, looks, actions, and thoughts. GOD’s SWORD, HIS WORD, JESUS, is the only weapon that drives Satan away in the NAME of JESUS.
I realized for the first time today that I have one more piece of armor. I have a seventh piece of GOD’s ARMOR to be perfectly and completely covered before I can be HIS soldier today. Verse 18 tells me to pray in the SPIRIT all day with all kinds of prayers and requests so I may be alert and always praying for my brothers and sisters in CHRIST! So in all of my conversation today, I must first talk to my HEAVENLY DADDY GOD! I will talk to HIM before I speak, before I make decisions, before I interact with anyone! GOD is always listening! HIS telephone line never puts me off with a “busy signal”. GOD never disconnects HIS cable connection to me! Praise GOD that nothing I say to HIM is too silly, too hard, too small, or too big to share or for HIM to take care of! WHAT an AMAZING ONE and ONLY TRUE GOD we serve!
All praise, honor and glory to THE KING of KINGS and the LORD of LORDS!!! HE has armed me to fight for HIM today! Put your spiritual armor on daily to be ready to let GOD defeat anything the enemy throws at you. VICTORY in JESUS!
I often believe that I have been such a ditnepoinsmpat. But, know that when God sees me he sees Jesus. But, here is what I often think about. If God sees Jesus who died for all of our sins, what does Jesus see when he looks down on earth. I try so very hard to be a good person and when I try really hard, I fail. But, when I run to Jesus to say I am sorry, he holds out his arms takes me into a tight hug and tells me it is okay. Go try again but, let me help you. Each day is better than the day before.
